The Mass Red Ribbon Ride?

In an unprecedented collaboration, 18 AIDS organizations are working together on this joint effort to raise funds and visibility for HIV/AIDS. The Mass Red Ribbon Ride is a three-day, 225 mile bike ride that starts in the Berkshires, overnights in Northampton and Weston, and ends in Salem. We hope to have 300 riders this year, with e ach rider raising a minimum of $2100 to participate. We are doing our best to keep the overhead to a minimum (with sponsors and in-kind donations) so the money raised goes to the 18 collaborative AIDS organizations. Our 3 year goal is to produce a Ride that returns at least 90% of funds raised, and raises over 1 million dollars for HIV/AIDS.

When: Friday, August 13 to Sunday, August 15

Where: The Ride spans Massachusetts . It begins at Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield , (in Western MA – close to the NY border). It makes its way to Northampton via the scenic Berkshires, continues up and around the Quabbin Reservoir through Weston and finishes on the east coast in Salem .

Our president, Kim, is the primary coordinator for this activity.
